Just got up... 11am... can't remember when was the last time i actually slept so much... muz have been during the hols. Got up, ate my tuna sandwich, got nagged at by dad for spending money on medical investigations that he doubts whether it's necessary... and wa la! the day has started. But it's a good day cos i didn't get woken up by the alarm on my sony ericsson k700i.

Crashed the A&E slots yester cos i missed my slot last week. One thing i concluded was that Singaporean parents are mostly quite paranoid about their kids, and more than half of them do not actually need to come to the A&E. A bit of flu and high fever won't kill you. Just go see ur downstairs that GP lar. Think every1 kiasi.

Also realised that there are some very good doctors out there who have both a head full of knowledge and a heart full of love. Hmm... maybe i want to be a physician afterall, instead of a butcher... Have to get more cerebral tho. Nvm, pass my exams first...

Went thru some x rays. And i realsise that i still hate ortho very much, and am only competent in CXR and AXRs.

Dr A: What do you see on this x ray?
Med students x 4: Er... this is a skull x ray of Mster Loo taken on ...er... 18 aug 2002. There is a patch of radio opacity over there.
Dr A: First comment on the views...
Med students x 4: Er... AP and lateral?
Dr A: What about this one?
Med students x 4: Er.. (silence for very long time till doc gets fed up)
Dr A: This is the occipital view
Med students x 4: Oh...
Dr A: How do you take this view?
Med students x 4: ... from the occiput?
Dr A: Yeah! Very good! (medical students felt sheepish)So what do you think it is?
Med students x 4: Er... otitis media with CSOM?
Dr A: ...
Med students x 4: Er sorry i retract my statement.
Dr A: What else can it be?

Dr A: Let's go back to first principles since you have no idea. Infection what do you think of?...Neoplastic?

We struggled thru the differentials of a radio opacity on a skull x ray. Never knew that HSV causes diffuse calcifications, Sturge Weber tram-track ones, and CMV causes Calcifications-around-ventricles.

At the end of that 1 x ray we had spent so much time tt we couldn't go thru many other x rays.
